The village of Leukerbad is situated at the very end of the Dala valley (Dala is the name of the river) at an altitude of 1411 m above sea level. The spa village has been known for its hot springs since Roman times: about 3.9 million litres of 51°C warm thermal water per day flows into the indoor and outdoor pools of Leukerbad.
